Friday Smiles

Sorry a little photo heavy today- Arriving in London On Weds for the day with one of my work mates and an ex pupil. Thankfully Max is brilliant at reading the tube maps and we travelled all over the place.

First stop was the Shard - Last year we went on the London Eye and while on it decided that the shard would be this year. Even in pouring rain still a fab view from level 69 - Don't be put off by the lifts - they took about 5 seconds to go 33 floors!

Up on level 72 and you are outside!

Next years trip - The gardens in the sky at 20 Fenchurch street ( the walkie talkie)

 Amazing

 The view from the ground.

View from the River boat and SUNSHINE at last.

 The Thames at sunset.

We popped into Harrods and sampled treats in the food halls. (I picked out a few Christmas presents just in case Hubby wins the lottery ;) )

We bought a treat or two - these sweeties work out at £1.38 each!! I ate them !
So ,still smiling after a lovely day and not over my poor cars MOT at over £500 eeek.

Okay - if you are of a delicate disposition , look away now.
I posted this on Face book yesterday ..

ha ha - Have a great week!

Ooo Look!

Tomatoes!! :)
Derek killed the first lot by over feeding - we have about 10 plants and 7 or 8 of them are for cherry tomatoes ( grown from seed) and these are normal ones. Every plant is now in fruit - i just hope the sun stays out to ripen them .

Friday Smiles.

It's been a good week . GCSE results day yesterday and I popped into school to see the pupils get their results. Our grades were up again this year and all our pupils did very well so I wasn't needed to support just congratulate.
On Wednesday ( the only Sunny day this week) I went to Southwold and had a ride on a horse and carriage. It was a lovely day.
Hubby is off work today and just asked if I wanted to go out ..............hummmm........where to go?
I have a joke for you .( and it's clean! - sorry ;) )

A man left for work one Friday afternoon. Instead of going home, he stayed out the entire weekend hunting with the boys and spending all his wages. When he finally got home on Sunday night, he was confronted by his very angry wife.
After two hours, she stopped nagging and said: 'How would you like it if you didn't see me for two or three days?' He replied: 'That would be fine with me.' Monday went by and he didn't see his wife. Tuesday and Wednesday came and went with the same results.
Thursday, the swelling went down just enough for him to see her a little out of the corner of his left eye

Have a great week :)

Sunshine and Southwold

After yesterdays rain, I really didn't think we would be going to Southwold today, but it was a warm sunny day . Unfortunately I only took one photo as I was catching up with my friend and the time flew. I think the world and his wife went to Southwold today. It was packed. when my friend Pat spied a horse and carriage ride though the town, we both jumped at the chance.
Back to work tomorrow but just see support pupils getting GCSE results.

Come on Summer!

Its a dark rainy day here in East Anglia, so no sitting in the garden.
I am never very inclined to do much when there is no light - the rain I can live with but no sunshine? :(

Looks like I shall be reading my new book .

Happy Birthday Mum - I miss you every day xx

Friday Smiles

I thought I'd show you how tall the sunflowers are getting - I have tied them back now as they are well over 7 foot and no where near ready to flower yet.
***
Hubby works nights and has a shift of 4 days on and two off, that means it's never the same two days and during term time we don't get too many days off together. As I am still on holiday and his two days off start today - we are off out . Now it might not seem THAT exciting when I tell you where.
Our "children" ( adults) all have learning/mental heath/heath problems so don't drive or get out as much as I would like them to . I told them all to choose somewhere that they would like to go and normally wouldn't get chance. Natalie ( 30 yrs) loves scrap booking and creating and although she often has access to my supplies ( plus loads of her own) has asked to go to the Range ( she has her list ready :) ).

Dan ( 21yrs) Typical boy - loves the slot machines and has been saving coins for ages.
So we are off to Ipswich to the Range and then on to Felixstowe for the penny arcade and hopefully something to eat.

Megan ( 20 yrs) has chosen the cinema and she is going next week with hubby ( some super hero film). Hopefully everyone will be happy . If they let me take photos, I will share later.

If you would like to share YOUR smiles on a Friday , HERE is the link to Annie's blog - where it all starts.

A catch up

I have just finished reading this book which I loved. I have also read "Sister" and "afterwards" . Theses are the only books she has written so far, and I can highly recommend them all .

Derek and I found this on netfilx and are already on season three! we watch one episode before he goes to bed off nights ( having our lunch) and one before he goes to bed after teatime.

This is my daughter Meg's FAV programme and we have to all sit and watch it with her on a Wednesday - Tonight ( after 5 seasons) we finally find out who "A" is - Meg has been doing my head in all day with excitement and theories.

Still can't hand washing out in the garden except on Sundays  because of the major construction/demolition site across the road causing so much dust. Can't really sit in the garden ( for same reasons - dust and noise) . Also the house next door is being gutted as it has finally been sold.

This Weeks Smiles

The Sunflowers are taller than me! Still not quite ready to bloom yet though - How spectacular will they be.

This cutie hanging outside the back door
Tubs of flowers , tomatoes and my herb tub ( don't look at the wall- Dan must have wanted to move when he was 10 as he painted "for sale" on the wall and I just can't get it off !! - He's 21 now!!)

More sunflowers at the end of the garden. Hubby removed all the climbers in the spring and we are going to replant and hopefully put in a raised boarder to hide some of the brick walls.

A little late I know but tomatoes finally flowering (grown from seed)

First timer a growing a chili plant.

The only thing spoiling things is the dust! There are major building works across the road at the moment and even though I have hosed down the windows and table , it comes back every day- not much longer to go now though.

I started a bereavement support  course while I was at school and just have one more section to do and then the final assessment - yayy.

I live in a council house and called the repair men out as we have a leaky tap in the bathroom ( I am not good a plumbing and don't think hubby would have a clue either) Anyway a lovely young man popped out today and then asked two inspectors to look at the bathroom - we are getting a brand new bathroom even a new floor - how wonderful is that? I was expecting a new washer . Anyway enough waffling - If you would like to join in with the smiles HERE is the link.
