Tired but on Track

This is what eldest daughters room looked like on Sunday when I started to clear it. I decorated it years ago - she is now 28 and was a teen when i first did it. Purple is her fav colour -hense the carpet and walls. The boarder pulled off paint with it when i removed it  :(

Blocked gutters caused this all sorted now though.

Natalie has learning problems and also dyspraxia- I don't know if this is why she finds it so difficult to tidy up or if she is just lazy! I don't do it very often as i think she OUGHT to have a go. I can tell you quite a bit of this went in the skip!!

She likes to scrapbook and make things , so I will be trying to organize her space better for her

She is messy with her DST and stickles - so that carpet will go and be replaced with something easier to clean!

Polyfilled the walls and painted the woodwook on Monday.

also painted the ceiling- much better!

Two coats of violet white on three walls  today (Tues)- Needs one more though as I can see bits of that turquoise paint showing through .

Getting there -just having a late lunch and then one more coat of paint on those walls.
I still have one wall to wallpaper and furniture to paint and a curtain pole to put up.
Hopefully tomorrow I can lay the flooring and put the bed together.
Then Thursday start to move things back in :)
Watch this space!

Busy busy busy

For the second time this week, even though we are in the middle of a heat wave( 27 last night at 11pm!) , the heavens opened just as I finished pegging out the second load of washing.
An impressive thunder storm but all over now and back to hot and sunny . At least my washing should get dry.

***
Am I mad?? very likely!!
Derek and Dan are off to Wales to visit family again for the week next week - what do I do? Yup decorate- this time its Natalie's room. She has the larger, messier of all the rooms. At the moment , because of overgrown gutters a few months ago, there is a damp patch on the ceiling and the walls are a deep purple. She only has a small window , so it looks dark. I have bought very pale lilac ( as she has asked for purple ) and white woodwork . She has a pale purple carpet but as she loves to scrap and make cards (but is VERY messy) , I have bought vinyl flooring, that way i should be able to get any stray double sided tape off - unlike the carpet!!. We are also changing her double divan - to a single metal frame bed so that she will have a bit more room.
The skip arrives later today and hubby leaves on Sunday - then the work will start- feeling tired thinking about it already!

Spent most of yesterday sorting paperwork out: applying for transport to college for both Dan and Meg in Sept. They have had it but as they are both on a new course this year it stopped - good job i rang to check!!
Also spent HOURS on phone trying to find out about Natalie's benefits. Even after all that I still don't know. I DO know at least that they have all the paperwork!! It makes my blood boil, they only give you a certain amount of time to fill it all in and SAY they will keep you informed but don't- I sent it off months ago! At least i know a little of what I am doing on behalf of Natalie - there are thousands of people out there who have to do this themselves and give up :( .

Right enough moaning for one day :) I made these today..

...Strawberry,Orange and Walnut scones ( this is NOT my photograph  but they look just like this) .
Meg and I watched "The Barefoot Contessa" on food tv the other day and she made these - Yummm

Yayy we survived!!

Last day of school was yesterday- I have to say that these photos were taken a few weeks ago - LOOK the grass is GREEN.

Anyway - as usual, it rained yesterday!
The pupils were allowed to go home at 12 and we stayed to say good bye to staff that were leaving.

A few of us went out last week to say good bye to this lovely lady.

Our Food tec teacher, who is retiering ( if I could look that good now!!)

It was a great night, goods food and good company :)

My dear sweet work colleagues taking the P*** out of me!!
Last week Derek and I also popped out to Felixstowe for a walk along the front. Although all the children perfered the slot machines - Dan managed to win a couple of bit of tat :) -He was happy.

Meg allowed to to photograph her as long as I dont put the pics on F book or tag her.
She has no idea hoiw beautiful she is!
Dan, Dex and Meg - just before we went shopping .

Nats doen't DO much walking and was already seated - bless :)

Now just got to survive the holidays!!
I don't have too much planned - already tired :)

Hubby popped into work to see me last week and took this photo on his phone - I usually hate pics of me, but this one is not too bad - You can tell yr 10's were on work experience as I look calm and happy ;)

This week

I went to see Robbie William and Olly Murs at Wembly stadium on Tuesday. I ticket became available a couple of weeks ago and it would have been rude not to go . We were VERY high up and if i had been a bigger fan, i might have been annoyed but it was a great experience. We didnt get back till 2am and I had to be up at 6.30, so i was a bit grumpy that Wednesday.

It was our Sports day on Thursday but we were too busy to see much of it - unfortunately there are badly behaved children all year round :(
It has been a busy ,trying week so I am glad its over.
Hopefully next week will be better - our year 10s are all off on work experience on Monday - so it SHOULD be quiet! ;)

Another month just whizzed by!

This time of the year is SO busy. I have managed to get on a year 8 school trip to Pleasure-wood Hills. its YEARS since i have been- the rides are much scarier- Not that I tend to go on them. This one "Wipeout" was very popular with some of our younger staff and of course the children. We do take our yr 9's to Alton Towers as a treat for good behaviour  but its usually busy and there are queues for the rides. There were no queues here!

The weather wasn't great BUT it did not rain at all and it wasn't too cold so I can't complain. I did go on the ghost train ( not too scarey - especially after the week in Inclusion that I had had!!)

We watched the sea lion show - so Cute.

Last week was our year 11 prom - I was a bit late arriving to take the photos I usually do of them arriving.

Some of our fav girls :) Most are staying on to go to 6th form.

I am off to see Robbie on Tuesday night ( I know a SCHOOL night!!) . A friend at work had a spare ticket so why not :)
We still have year 13 prom and a few staff's leavers "dos" to attend too.

In other news : Derek is finally able to go back to work , although his route changes daily .
Dan has finished college for the Summer ( alright for some) He seems to have become nocturnal agiain!
Derek and Dan are preparing for a trip Wales in August and I have another (bigger) bedroom to decorate- glutton for punishment!

30 Years

Sorry I have no photos to share. We did celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary, we went out for a meal. Hopefully we will get chance to do something nice later in the year when Derek (and our bank balance) are healthier.
Derek is still recovering from surgery on his leg -he is getting better and going for a walk everyday. He is going to attempt to drive tomorrow ( i will be glad when he is driving again) so, fingers crossed.
Things are a bit tight as he only gets a very small amount of his wages while off sick for the first three weeks :( -
Anyway, its half term this week and thats brilliant. I have been so tired recently -its lovely to relax a little and sit at my craft table.
*****

I have been reading , I didn't realize how much as I use my kindle app on the iPad and I seem to be reading lots.
This was so quick to read  - about a boy in care.

Just "found" this writer - compelling and I have just found that there is a second book to go with this one.
Not what I expected at all !!  Loved it.
Book two - I have just started this one.

I have been watching a little TV too ..

Both Derek and I are hooked on Revolution - just hope it doesn't disappear  like some series do !

Watched the series final this week of Grey's - they can NEVER stop making this program. I have been a fan from the very beginning. Yes I sobbed - always makes me cry.

I have also been baking today - sausage rolls with shortcrust pastry and sage and also raspberry and white chocolate muffins.

They are nice when they are warm.

Now I am tired again and its time to cook tea.!

opps- where has the time gone?!

I have been meaning to update for AGES!!
Poor Dex had his leg operated on a couple of weeks ago - this photo was taken 4 days after the op -we went for a tiny walk at Thornham walks
Hew has his varicose veins done on one leg and is healing nicely now.

Look what we saw! Cowslips -rare now but they used to be EVERYWHERE in Spring.

Madam -as always on the phone- boy are those things a problem.

I went on a school trip ( just for the day) to Wroxham broards .
I Loved that we got to ride on the the Broads. It was a gorgeous day too.

These Swans were bullies and tried to intimidate me into giving them my chips - they picked the wrong person!!

The oldest dwelling on the broads - built in the 1920's.

pretty view.

Last week , our year 11's started study leave and had a "dress up" day. They were as always really funny .

My Nephew and one of his friends - with rare smiles on their faces.

One of our year 11's - i hate it when they leave!

Today we went for another trip out - only 4 miles away - Thornham Coach house, for morning coffee and cake .

I promise not to be so long next time.
