Quiet Weekend

A visit from Nets and Shortie :) Nets says that she doesn't look good in any photos ..as usual I prove her wrong !! LOL

Busy week again at school but exams are coming to an end ( thank goodness)

I went out with some of the staff on Thurs to see South Pacific .......It was great and the woman who sang "Happy Talk" was brill. It reminded me of mum...watching all those old black and white films on a Sat afternoon :)

Gone!

Took my music off the blog ...doesn't mean I have gone off him at all..just aware that some people don't like music blaring at them while reading. I am sure he'll be back in the future for the odd appearance. :)

Well I was going to say its been a quiet weekend....

....but it never is here!!! LOL We popped out for a little while today but not before the whole lot of them ( incl Dex) had temper tantrums. JOY.

I am daft coz ( being an optimist) I thought that when the children got older , they would be better behaved. But no ...they just know more swear words to call each other!! ( I do have one to explain the meaning of to Megan later)

Anyway, we only went to the Range (they spent more than me) and Mac Donald's ( i have indigestion!). Dan couldn't cope with eating out , so we stayed in the car.

I made a card last night. A late anniversary card for my sis :( HOW could i forget?! It was a scrap lift from Monica at ScrapaGoGo using bits left over from previous kits.

Half term is over

On the whole it was quite wet :(

Dex is back from Wales ( wasn't the BEST time he'd had there) He enjoyed the Rugby match.

I spent a lovely day at the Wyverston crop yesterday but only managed one LO..came back with loads of ideas and a LONG shopping list ! LOL

Finally gave in a streaked Megs hair today. I am quite please as there are just a few ( enough to please her) and subtle enough for me :)

I would be looking forward to school tomorrow if we weren't in the middle of the exams and the timetable is a mess.

The first LO is the one i did at Wyverstone and i have used the new doodlebug flock in red on the flowers and some white on the doodles.

The second is a UKS weekly challenge and the photos are a bit dark :(

What a wash out!

Not a great day for taking hundreds of photos! Round two of "save the day" today. I got up at 9am !! It has been wet, dark and very boring here today. Dan wanted to continue with the garden ..thankgoodness we filled the skip yesterday. Dan was a great help and as fast as i cut, he cleared. No more clematis :( but the roots are strong so i am sure it will grow back. I just have a few bits that i can't reach and Dex can do when he gets back from Wales.

I can FINALLY start with my scrapaGoGo kit tomorrow :)

Off to watch lost now.

Where does the time go to???

I can't believe its almost Monday again!!

Dan had a good week in Wales and came back Fri night VERY tired and VERY smelly...thankfully I have washed (boiled) most of his clothes. He has managed to ruin two pairs of trainers and must have spent almost £50 on sweets!!

Went to Megs parents evening on Weds night. We were there for two and a half hours, hanging round to talk to the teachers but, it was worth it. They only had good things to say about her and her art teacher made my year by saying that if she wants, she should be able to do art GCSE. BRILLIANT!!

I spent most of yesterday putting together another unit for my craft/dining room.. I am slowly getting more organised, which means a bit more space. (Pic above)

I have managed to finally finish my "Save the day" pages for April. Still working on the cover but am at least going to be ready for the next round of photos next week :)

I am also eagerly waiting for my June ScrapaGoGo kit and can't wait to play !

Busy Weekend

Photos of Nats and Jo just before they left for the Glitter Ball. they had a great time. Dex took them , dropped them off and took Meg to the cinema.....so with Dan in Wales , i was alone for a while.......blissful cept Dex phoned FOUR times! Dan phoned telling me that there was an accident on the way to Wales and they were turned back, so didn't get there till midnight. He had got ALL his trousers wet, had he PSP confiscated for fighting, ohh and ruined his school shoes on the beach! JOY........sigh

Yesterday Dex said we should go out as it was too nice to stay in. SO, we started off at the garden center (as i needed some weed killer ) and had lunch there. We then went to Wroxham Barns where the girls played on the mini fun fair and won a few bits of rubbish. We got to Croma at about 4pm and sat on the beach for a while. Meg and Dex went in for a paddle and Meg got soaked (as usual).

On the way home, we stopped in Norwich at the Chinese buffet for tea. The girls loved it. I have to say that we don't very often go out together for a meal but it went really well. They even tried new food....Meg and Nats liked the duck ( until i told them what it was!LOL)

Its yr 10 mock exams this week at school and although it is only Monday , today felt like a couple of days at work!

He's Gone!

Dan Has gone to Wales today ( after his Science SATs) for a week with the school. He had his hair cut on Saturday and has been crazing for me to bleach the top. So here he is in all his glory :)

I am not kidding, he has taken 4....yes FOUR tubs of gel with him!!! Oh and Dex's Linx spray LOL

Its going to be a reasonably quiet week for which i am grateful..although of course i shall miss him. Dex is going to be lost without him.

Bank hol weekend

A visit from Nets and Rose and then Andrea, Mark and James Saturday :)
Dex finally got hold of a wii fit and I phoned comet and told them what to do with their pre order! He is now addicted to going on it and I have yet to have a go.

Yesterday Dex and Dan went to the last footy match of the season while i re did my craft/ dining room. Although it is alot better and feels like there is more room, i am still not happy with it and have just orderd some more storage.

Today , baking, tidying and laundry. Dan is staying at school tomorrow night and is also off to Wales for a week on Friday :) :)

Year 9 SATS start tomorrow and i am a prompt for one of the pupils i support in two maths exams...joy! Its really boring as you have to watch the whole time and cannot do anything else.

Theres yr 10 mocks followed by yr 11 GCSE's till almost the end of term now and we have to cover nearly every exam.

Do weeknds go so fast! ?

I had a great day yesterday at the Wyverstone crop with Nets. Made a card and a mini book ( that i need to put photo's in). Today i have done a couple of LO from the UKs cyber crop Classes although the top one wasn't finished in time for points. I enjoyed it anyway.

The growing up LO is ME :D ( about two thousand years ago when I was 17).

Dex is watching rubgy for a while , so I shal prepare tea, sort the laundry and get back to my scrapping Ta Ta for now.

My Eldest is 23 today!! How old do i feel?!
She has lots planned..a party with some friends this afternoon. And celebrating with us later..so TWO cakes!!

Dan doesn't like me taking lots of closeups..in fact is getting fed up of me photographing him. so, i have to try all sorts, that's why the title is "Smile or you're grounded" ...theres almost a smile there LOL ..so it works! ;)

Quite a productive weekend

for me anyway :D I managed four layouts from my May ScrapaGoGo kit..not bad as it only arrived yesterday!

Other than scrapping, it just been the usual washing and boring stuff but nice to not have to go anywhere or do much.

Dex has (of course) bought a couple more games for the Wii. I have managed..despite Paula's warning...to smash my livingroom light bulb, while playing tennis!

Sorry about the quality of the photos, i took over 100 but they were mostly blurred as my camera can't cope with the action LOL.

How come its Friday already?!

I am not complaining because I get to have a lay in in the morn ...It's just that this week has whizzed past!
Meg went to the diabetic clinic yesterday and her blood sugars are so much better than they were. They were really pleased with her.
I was quite cross and grumpy on Weds as our carer couldn't come but forgot to phone and let us know, she has previously arranged to get here earlier as well. So, we were sitting here starving , waiting to go out and eventually phoned and found out that she wasn't coming. She said she was very sorry but i am sure she has no idea how we rely on her for a break..ahh well hopefully things will be OK next week.
I have been asked if I would like to do some extra hours occasionally, mostly a few hours at odd weekend. This would be doing my OLD job of care taking IE booking out the sports hall and field and keeping an eye on the ever growing premises. I have told them I would do it as long as its not too often and not permanent.
Right then..Dex is about to challenge me at tennis on the Wii ..Have a good weekend :D

Look what the postman brought

Not sure how brilliant it is as they are all desperate to use it and I have had to send Megan to her room to calm down once tonight. Hopefully once the novelty has worn off a bit they can all get a chance. I just need a bigger living room now!
Dan is at school tonight and tomorrow we have our carer over so we can go out to tea and do the weekly shopping. The week is just whizzing by.

Please excuse the poor photo above ..have you tried to stand still on a bed and take a photo?? I finally made one for me ( a banner that is). This was also done for the UKs House challenge for April.

Weeeeeeeeeekend!!!!!!

I really appreciate the weekends now school hols are over! Yesterday was spend doing house work and chilling. Ohh and sitting with my niece and nephew for the morning while little sis went to pick up a new car. My arm is aching this morn after playing a "few" rounds of tennis on their Wii !! I am seriously thinking of getting one now ( a Wii that is) :)

last night started making a birthday card ,,,was seriously inspired by this fabulously talented lady! I think you will see where i got the idea from. If you scroll halfway down the page, you will see her fab chipboard book. I have just made a chipboard card and had to attach the front and back with ribbon not rings , so it will stand. I usually show everything i make to Dex and he usually likes it but I am afaid he was NOT impressed with this :( ..ahh well i like it and hope the person who is getting it does too.

No scrapping..No photos.

But I did learn how to put graphs into an excel spread sheet and label them :D
Also had a meeting with a outreach worker for pupils with ASD (we have a few in school) and are trying to get extra help for quite a few of them. It was good to talk to her and get ideas to put into immediate use in the classroom for specific problems.
Dex has just gone off to get a new car ( not NEW, new). I am really going to miss the space cruiser as there is SO much room in it......sigh . It has been all over the place too and i LOVED it! Dex is donating it to the fire service to practice cutting people out of ( he retired from the service almost 3 yrs ago)...It is So expensive to run and so old but has been a part of our family for 10 years. I can remember when he got it, i had told him that i would not go out again in a car unless the children couldn't touch each other LOL It was perfect! The smaller children could stand up in it too ..Dan is now 6 foot though. Anyway he is getting a Sharon (sp?) thingy , which he say is just as big ..but its not..it IS a lot cheaper to run though.
