UK scrappers Cyber Crop

This was a fun class to do. You had to make flowers from old newspaper but I made mine from paper and "wordy" stamps. They were then sprayed with glimmer and cosmic mists and then decorated with stickles.
I like how they turned out.
The Class i finished last night needed lots of hand sewing on it and i could only find one needle ( not a blunt one) so, my fingers are still sore.
I bought those 3D letters YEARS ago but they fit perfectly here
The finished effort below.

Photos taken yesterday when Nets and Rosie came over ...mainly to see Nats who wasn't here!
Suppose I had better get tea started :( .....That's another weekend gone! :( :(
see you soon

25!!!!!

I gave birth to Natalie in Lagan Valley Hospital ,Lisburn, N Ireland. She was born at 2.40pm and weighted 7lb 12oz :) Happy Birthday Hunny !
This is one of the layouts I started last weekend when Shimmelle had her blog party. I didn't get it finished in time though. The challenge was to use her sketch and wood grain. I LOVE this paper .
The wood grain paper looks fab with glossy accents on it ( for the title).
My first Layout from UKs cyber scrap taking place this weekend.

I made my own bingo card.
Had a very busy week back at work this week. Also had an awful sore throat which is almost gone now, thankfully :D
Enjoy your weekend.

Party time!!

There is an online scrap party all weekend over at Shimelle's blog. There must be about five pages of challenges and inspiration! Go Check it out... Here
I am one of the slowest scrappers I know but I have managed to complete the coffee cup book - Made from a Starbucks cup :D It was so much fun. There is a link so you can download the papers and instructions, even a cup ,if like me, you live no where near a Starbucks...good excuse to go get one eh?
The papers are so pretty that I have just embellished them.

I made my book up slightly differently ( as I don't have book binding tape)
Hopefully I can get something else done before the deadline.

Not Too Sure about this one

I Love the way Debbie scraps and this was inspired by one of her Lo's that she taught at ATDML recently. After going back and looking at her's , i am thinking that this is more of a mess and has too many gaps in it..ahh well may do another one.

I enjoyed taking the photos and finding out a little about my town. We have so many listed buildings! Looking at it though the eyes of a Tourist is quite something :D I have lived here since I was 11, with a five year break when Derek was in the RAF. I have lived in 5 different houses. The house I live in now, is built on the grounds of the second house we lived in ( it was pulled down in the late 70's ) and this house has the same view from the back as the old one had from the front..its quite nice sometimes to look out at the tree and remember when I was young and both mum and dad were alive, and although I fought with them daily, my sisters were all here :D
Right! enough of that..its a beautiful sunny day and I need to put the washing out.
Bye for now xx

Happy Birthday Eva

She won't read this but Happy Birthday! anyway. I pinched this photo from her FB profile- She does smile, just not much on photos for some reason. She is a fab clever girly and is going to 6th form in Sept. She wants to be a police woman.
No crafting (so far) today.
See you later xx

A Purple Card

My First Digi Stamp from Mo's digital pencil. I am new to this so am learning as I go. I use water colours and H2O's to colour in and wasn't happy that the black printing ink kept bleeding. So i printed it out of card and quickly added clear embossing powder to the image and then dried it with my heat gun. That seemed to solve the problem.
Anyway my niece Eva is 16 .....16!!!!! tomorrow and I needed to make her a card. So here it is.

This is a slightly better photo of the one I made yesterday.
Now have to make an early tea of chicken curry so I can be out by 6.15.

A Layout and A Card

Just a quick layout ( for me anyway!) Megan's school trip to London last Summer. I made a collage in picasa and just printed it out.
I used an "October Afternoon" sticker and stamped onto it. I have had this stamp (along with a few others ;)) for YEARS and this was the first time I used it!
Sorry about the poor light in the photo below, its quite dark here now. I will photograph in the morning when its light. This is one of the stamps I bought yesterday. I think she is adorable and loved painting her.

Right off to watch "flash forward"
Night xx

Lovely Sunny Sunday

Yes I know its Monday today! This was yesterday at Alexander Palace. I went with Nets and Sarah. It was a glorious sunny day. Sorry completely forgot to take photos while inside..was too busy shopping and looking :) . The stash I bought was mostly basic stuff like DST ( 10 rolls for £4 ) and inks , re inkers, and stickles ..although I could't find anymore Rhinestone stickles , so if anyone knows where you can get some, I would be very greatfull. I also bought some card making supplies for the girls. Here are links to my stamps and the shops I bought them from, just click each link. Two stamps from Lavina stamps ( LOVE that shop) and one fairystamp from Lili of the valley

We met up and had lunch with Samm. We also saw the lovely Jackie. We tormented Ginger on the crafters compaion stand.

Even though there were not too many people inside , and I think, less stands than last year, it was blinkin hot, so and ice ream was called for as we left to go home :)
Till next time xx

Been playing with ink and paint

And made a card..you should SEE the mess though !

MME paper is ideal for the scrunched flowers as they are so absorbent. I think i need a better camera as my pictures just don't look anywhere near as good as the real thing..or maybe i need to go on a course. The light in this house is great first thing in the morning but awful after that.
Right off to cook a sausage casserole for tea ( cept for Dan who still won't touch sausages!..he will have to have fish fingers).

A Scrap lift

While blog hopping the other day, i found this amazing inspirational blog
Stacey Cohen has some fab layouts and for the one above, i was inspired by this Layout
and did my own version. I don't own shimmerz but used cosmic shimmer golden mint and then a little antique brass glimmer mist to spray the card stock. Green is my fave colour so i just used green p.paper and distressed each piece slightly, by either embossing, adding glitter or sanding and inking.

This element was totally copied from here . I love the idea of using the waste from the chipboard punch out.
If you visit Stacey's blog i highly recommend you also look at the older posts too....Just stunning!
I just need to pop on some journaling along the bottom.
Have a great day xx

Cocktails With My Sisters

This was the first time,in the Winter, we have since had another evening a few weeks ago. I found out that i don't like Margaritas but i LOVE mojitos :) I WAS going to enter this into the ATDML challenge where the LO had to have something to do with education but i think the link is too weak . ha ha !
The vines along the side are stamped and embossed, then i punched out some leaves and stuck them on and finished with some "stickles" grapes.
Aren't glossy accents fab?! the lime is just some clip art with glossy accents added.
Bottle of Rum is also clip art
I used Tim Holtz rock candy crackle paint on the label

and the distress stickles to look like salt on the tequila.
This week is going FAR too fast! I really need time to stop for a little while..i have so much to do. I still have a bad bad from my bout of flu a few weeks ago. The doc think i just pulled a muscle. I think i need some warm sun on it and although it IS sunny outside ( I saw a ladybird this morning) , it is still too cold.
I AM looking forward to going to London on Sunday with Nets and Sarah to Alexandra Palace for the big scrap booking and stamping show. My list is getting longer though :D
Till next time xx
