Another month just whizzed by!

This time of the year is SO busy. I have managed to get on a year 8 school trip to Pleasure-wood Hills. its YEARS since i have been- the rides are much scarier- Not that I tend to go on them. This one "Wipeout" was very popular with some of our younger staff and of course the children. We do take our yr 9's to Alton Towers as a treat for good behaviour  but its usually busy and there are queues for the rides. There were no queues here!

The weather wasn't great BUT it did not rain at all and it wasn't too cold so I can't complain. I did go on the ghost train ( not too scarey - especially after the week in Inclusion that I had had!!)

We watched the sea lion show - so Cute.

Last week was our year 11 prom - I was a bit late arriving to take the photos I usually do of them arriving.

Some of our fav girls :) Most are staying on to go to 6th form.

I am off to see Robbie on Tuesday night ( I know a SCHOOL night!!) . A friend at work had a spare ticket so why not :)
We still have year 13 prom and a few staff's leavers "dos" to attend too.

In other news : Derek is finally able to go back to work , although his route changes daily .
Dan has finished college for the Summer ( alright for some) He seems to have become nocturnal agiain!
Derek and Dan are preparing for a trip Wales in August and I have another (bigger) bedroom to decorate- glutton for punishment!

30 Years

Sorry I have no photos to share. We did celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary, we went out for a meal. Hopefully we will get chance to do something nice later in the year when Derek (and our bank balance) are healthier.
Derek is still recovering from surgery on his leg -he is getting better and going for a walk everyday. He is going to attempt to drive tomorrow ( i will be glad when he is driving again) so, fingers crossed.
Things are a bit tight as he only gets a very small amount of his wages while off sick for the first three weeks :( -
Anyway, its half term this week and thats brilliant. I have been so tired recently -its lovely to relax a little and sit at my craft table.

I have been reading , I didn't realize how much as I use my kindle app on the iPad and I seem to be reading lots.
This was so quick to read  - about a boy in care.

Just "found" this writer - compelling and I have just found that there is a second book to go with this one.
Not what I expected at all !!  Loved it.
Book two - I have just started this one.

I have been watching a little TV too ..

Both Derek and I are hooked on Revolution - just hope it doesn't disappear  like some series do !

Watched the series final this week of Grey's - they can NEVER stop making this program. I have been a fan from the very beginning. Yes I sobbed - always makes me cry.

I have also been baking today - sausage rolls with shortcrust pastry and sage and also raspberry and white chocolate muffins.

They are nice when they are warm.

Now I am tired again and its time to cook tea.!

opps- where has the time gone?!

I have been meaning to update for AGES!!
Poor Dex had his leg operated on a couple of weeks ago - this photo was taken 4 days after the op -we went for a tiny walk at Thornham walks
Hew has his varicose veins done on one leg and is healing nicely now.

Look what we saw! Cowslips -rare now but they used to be EVERYWHERE in Spring.

Madam -as always on the phone- boy are those things a problem.

I went on a school trip ( just for the day) to Wroxham broards .
I Loved that we got to ride on the the Broads. It was a gorgeous day too.

These Swans were bullies and tried to intimidate me into giving them my chips - they picked the wrong person!!

The oldest dwelling on the broads - built in the 1920's.

pretty view.

Last week , our year 11's started study leave and had a "dress up" day. They were as always really funny .

My Nephew and one of his friends - with rare smiles on their faces.

One of our year 11's - i hate it when they leave!

Today we went for another trip out - only 4 miles away - Thornham Coach house, for morning coffee and cake .

I promise not to be so long next time.

Today's catch up in Pictures

I am on half term and as its been too cold to do anything in the garden ( as i had planned) - I have slowly been tidying and organizing my craft supplies.
Later in the year i have to completely redecorate and re think the room - i need top downsize and I'd like more space.
Here are the cards I have made over the past year.

My p paper is a little better but i want to be able to separate the papers and find them more easily so - i do need a different way to store them .

my desk at the moment- the totes are onlt £1.99 to store the copics - can't think of a cheaper way.

projects i am working on at the moment .

Loooooooooook what is on my big shot cutting mat. The lovely postman brought this die yesterday .

And best of all today - SUNSHINE!! ( my feet are still a bit cold though) .
Doesn't it make everything feel so much better -almost want to go out in the garden- i did say ALMOST ;)

Have a Great Weekend!

Quick Catch up.

Thank goodness February is gone!! So cold and dark and miserable.
Annette and I did get to go away for a weekend to a WONDERFUL retreat with Creative hART and soul. I loved all the classes and have finished three.
I came back full of inspiration that has not disappeared (yet).
Derek and Dan went to Wales last weekend ( it was lovely and quiet here;)) to visit Derek's mum ( who is 94 today !!)
Tomorrow would have been Steph's 51st  Birthday :( We didn't even get to celebrate her 50th

Annette and I at the retreat

Hubbies Birthday

 So I made him a cake :)
Such fun and SO easy ( although i never want to see a Kit Kat again!)

A simple victoria sponge surrounded with Kit Kats, Chocolate Gnash on top and some pink icing molded into pig "bits" - He said it was one of the best cakes he had ever tasted ( but he's got to say that hasnt he?).

Happy Birthday Hunny

Feeling Blue

I know it will pass and I know She would be cross with me - just can't shake it at the moment.
Remembering this time last year and my heart is breaking all over again.

Something Cute
Just outside our Window at work _ we actually have two bird feeders but this one is the most popular

 Aren't they adorable?

The pupils are quite happy to pop out and keep it topped up and change the water in the bird bath as soon as it freezes- I am going to get some more for outside other rooms in the school as they make you smile.

Happy New Year.

And Happy Christmas ! Sorry MIA recently - I have been crafting on my other blog .
Not my favourite time of year - I hate the cold and dark, don't even like snow- not that we have had any.
Christmas is a time to "get though" , I am not miserable though and the kids had a great time, we did all the normal stuff- I am, just glad its over :) I always feel better when the tree comes down. Mum died suddenly three days before Christmas 12 yrs ago and this was our first Christmas without Steph.
I have been resting and tidying and making stuff, managed to pay all bills and still have enough to visit sales :)
The children ( dunno why i still call them that- Meg is 18 later this year!) became nocturnal and were not getting up till after lunch -It was nice as it was so quiet in the mornings but not healthy (Meg is diabetic and needs to inject) - so they are all up early today ( and arguing!!)

It was quiet for a little while ;) !!!

I am back to work on Monday and "they " are back at college soon after. I need to sort out Megs next course at college, she is on her second year doing life skills and wants to do an art course next year - in with all the main stream students. Not sure about Dan, he has been doing a "next Steps course" but that is due to finish this year - He wants to do a painting and decorating course at the same college a Megan.
Derek is waiting to hear if he is to be made redundant in the summer, he had been working for the company for 19 years !
So lots of changes this year - hopefully all will go smoothly and will be for the better.
If you are still awake...well done!

While the Boys are away....

.....the girls will play! Dex and Dan had popped off to Wales to watch some rugby match or other , so , the girls asked if we could just chill out and "do Stuff" together. As its so cold we are staying in.
Last night they cooked. Spanish omelet.

Nats did all the prep while Meg made sure it didn't burn.

 Lots of concentrating.

Almost cooked - i can say it was yummy and we had a side salad with it.

The lazy girls are still asleep at the mo while i do the laundry. To night we are having Chinese delivered and watching a film. If they get up in time we shall be making soap this afternoon.

Tree planting

A Small group of us planted over 150 trees this morning to be part of Hartismere Forest.
Actually it didn't take that long and although we all got soaked at one point, by the time we had stopped for tea and buns, it was all dry again.

Silly Season!!

Is definitely upon us!!
Too much to do and too little time!
Don't get me wrong - i like to go out - Last weekend was FABULOUS with my sisters at Stoke By Nayland. I didnt take many photos and the ones i took were rubbish so i wont put them up.
We are still living in the aftermath of the council; putting in new heating ( nothing wrong with the old radiators!!) Waiting for it to be inspected now and then the bulider/decorator to fill in the holes ect.
I will definitely need to decorate almost every where after Christmas.
I shall be tree planting next Saturday - 420 of them !!! at the school with a small group of volunteers. One of my jobs at school ids as the ECO rep , the head wants a forest - so he is getting one!!

OOOOO almost a month

Since I last posted ! How slack!
Just coming to the end of half term- as it was really hectic before at school , i was ready for it . Unfortunately the council had other plans- to completely replace all our radiators and heating. What a mess! I spent three days clearing out clutter ( one very full skip) and making sure there was access to all the radiators. The workmen came in and moved EVERYTHING - like a whirlwind. We spent the day in a freezing cold living room . Dex had to take Dan out for a while as he was stressing so much. I have to say they were not that great and left a dreadful mess at around 6pm . I couldn't even SEE Megan's bed as they had dumped stuff all over it :(
Anyway the electrician who came the next day was an angel! Every where , although desperately needing decorating is now relatively  dust free and tidy again. Just waiting to be inspected and then the roof re lagged .
Tonight I am off, with my sisters to ATDML retreat. We booked quite late and just for the night but i am SO looking forward to it.

I managed to miss Halloween ( knee high in dust) and am back to work on Monday.
I think thats about all my news.
