So last Thursday was the year 13 Prom - held at Brome Grange. It was nice a close and the food was fab.

Hubby came with me and had a great time ( And that's all I am saying about That!!)

Last Night (Mon) was Year 11 prom - Held in the middle of no where - sorry somewhere near Lavenham. it took over a hour to get there!

The barn where the meal and dance was , was fab.
I have no idea why the four poster beds where there!!

Anyway after all that partying , bit tired today!

First Bar B que

First Bar B Que of the year .
Please excuse the garden next door - the house has been sold but no one is living there at the moment so it is all overgrown.

I made pimms ( strawberry) and everyone liked it INCLUDING Dan ( I had to take the fruit etc out of course). by the way , Dan was Sort of with us but took his to his room - don't boy dissolve in sunlight nowadays ??!

Some of the pot plants and the little ones are tomatoe plants grown from seed .

Just a few of Derek's sunflowers

We had to buy new tomatoe plants as Derek managed to kill the last three !!

The next bit of the garden to be sorted. The clematis has to go - there is a garage door behind all that AND an old unused coal bunker.

We want to put a lean to green house in its place .

Look who managed to get his hands dirty!

finally got Dexy to plant something- He is or WAS not a fan of gardening and will mow our weeds at a push. I have dragged him round loads of garden centres over the years and this year , he was listening as I was chatting about what plants I wanted. he even had a few opinions too.

He loves sunflowers and bought a packet of seeds along with three tomatoe plants and another packet of tomatoe seeds. here he is re potting the sunflowers - They are coming along nicely but we will have LOADS!!

Ii didn't think the tomatoe seeds would take outside but they are just starting to grow - they will be the next to re pot.

Gardening - The Before photos

Firstly , let me say that I do like gardening and growing things- I do NOT like cold wet weather though  and am definitely a fair weather gardener.
My dad put the patio down years ago  and although it needs a good scrub- I am still happy with it. Unfortunately the furniture in the garden, although treated - has rotted but has probably been there for 10 years or more.
The fence between our house and next door fell down (twice) - There is a small amount of plastic fencing up at the moment. I asked the council if it could be replaced but they said it is the responsibility of the people next door. The house has just sold - so hopefully they will  replace it for some privacy.

The plant stand I have had for about 20 years and is on its last legs. I have only just potted up the tubs. Hubby wanted to grow some sunflowers and tomatoes. We are growing some Toms by seed ( hopefully) and also bought a few plants - we will see.

A new passion flower - I did have some but they got strangled by the climbers on the back wall.

Speaking of which- OMG!! these walls were over grown with climbers!! There was a very over grown honeysuckle all along the back wall - and clematis, climbing hydrangea, Jasmin and others. Hubby was very fed up with it so took drastic action. As I type , it is already a bit tidier as he has cut everything right back- none of it is dead and it will grow back. I may take some out completely though and add more flowering plants.
I WOULD quite like some raised boarders or at least more definite boarders as that silly plastic edging is no good.

If you look closely at the right hand side of the wall, my son found some paint when he was about 10 yrs old ( he probably wanted to move) and painted "for sale" on the flippin wall- try as i can , I cannot get rid of that paint- Any ideas?
This is the side wall and the garage wall- I bought two plants years ago and just look at that clematis! It has been cut right back at least twice- at the moment it is all over the garage roof and looks stunning. again out of control and is covering up orange blossom plants. When it has finished flowering, hubby and I have decided that it is all being removed to make way for a lean to green house .

A weeded patio , awaiting a new table and chairs- and a scrub!

You can see next doors garden - no privacy.

Also next to the gate under the pant is an old coal bunker that also has to go to make way for a greenhouse.

The lawn will need to be reseeded and I have LOADS of wood chips for the Chimera in the evenings.

Well I have my work cut out for me and I need to get it done before Winter( or most of it anyway ).

I will update when it looks a bit better

Time to catch up

On Thursday it was our wedding anniversary - 32 years!!
We went back to where we had our reception meal. It has changed hands many times since then . It was nice to see some of my ex pupils working there and nice to catch up with them.

It was a lovely meal and we were given a romantic booth and an Anniversary card from the pub.

The outside hasn't changed at all. Still really pretty.

I am on the last haft term of the year this week and have been catching up with tidying - not easy when there are 5 messy adults in the house and you work full time.
I have also been doing some long overdue tidying of the garden. Some of my furniture is just crumbling now, so new furniture arriving later in the week.

Dex and I have found this sweet programme and are half way though season 2 on Amazon Prime

Megan Is making me watch this with her on Netfilx - even though it is meant for teens - I am on season 5 now!! opps!

One of my work colleagues recommended this book  "The Yellow World: Trust Your Dreams and They'll Come True" by Albert Espinosa.
Brief Description
Albert Espinosa never wanted to write a book about surviving cancer, so he didn't. He wrote a book instead about the Yellow World. What is the yellow world? The yellow world is a world that's within every one's reach, a world the colour of the sun. It is the name of a way of living, of seeing life, of nourishing yourself with the lessons that you learn from good moments as well as bad ones. It is the world that makes you happy, the world you like living in. The yellow world has no rules; it is made of discoveries.
It was nice to read .

I am about to purchase this new album by Will Young - will let you know what i think .

Hair Dying

I promised that I would dye madams hair over the holiday and as it is her Birthday tomorrow- I thought i had better get it done.

Not my favourite job as its so messy and I have learned that I need to protect everything! We used two boxes of dye as she has so much hair.

I also have to clean the bathroom as it looks like someone was murdered in there!
Madam did not want her photo taken - sulky horror!

Almost 20

Next week is Megan's 20th Birthday.
I am so proud of  her , she is such a lovely young woman.
She has had to go though quite a bit in her life already : at five years we found out that she was type one diabetic and that made her different from all her friends. She has speech problems and learning difficulties although she hides it very well. She measure herself up against others and " in her eyes " always falls short.

Yesterday her BF told her he couldnt handle her insecurity and ended thier relationship.
We have talked and she is now okay with this and know that there will be someone out there who will love her for who she is and help BUILD her self esteem and not destroy it.

She is stornger, sweeter , kinder, braver and wiser than she she thinks and needs to focus on what is important- the kind of woman she is becoming and not what she looks like.

Most of all she needs FUN and that is what is planned for the rest of the Easter hols.

Sorry - MIA again

Its just So busy at the moment . at least Spring is almost here and the days are getting longer ( hopefully warmer and sunnier too).
I have a couple of birthdays in the horizon to sort out . Meg is 20 soon and Nats 30...Wow how did that happen!?

Yesterday I spent the day at Diss high school helping the girls from the "Girls Group" that Nats attends get ready for a panto they had a couple of numbers in . There were two performances and both were fab.

 Rehearsing.

sorry photos not brilliant - I didn't want to put them off with a flash.

They had two numbers ( in case you hadn't guessed, it Willy Wonka ! ).
They were the chickens who laid golden eggs.

A pose before the second performance . They are all such lovely girls we had such a laugh.

Take a bow ( note those feet!)

 Finished ...until next year.

Just some of my mothers day gifts- yes I am sharing those chocs ( that's why they bought them! ;) )

I will try not to be so long next time.
