Beautiful Prima

I LOVE the prima paint able papers. This has been painted using watercolour pencils and acrylics, has a tea stained varnish on it and has been "stickled" I also copied another of the roses for the corner of the photo.

No exciting plans this week. Kids are happy to just hang about outside with Friends. We have some trips organised for the next few weeks though.

I am getting excited as i am off to a crop in Norfolk on Sat and will see some "other" grown ups LOL. Sometimes i feel like i am grounded in the holidays. Dex is at work ( and sleeping during the day) and the children don't get up till after lunch sometimes! I am NOT complaining though. I like the peace and being about to potter, scrap or read. Now reading "The time travellers wife" :)

Meg a couple of months ago, on a school trip to London. I am VERY grateful to her teaching assistant as she wouldn't have been able to go without her as she needed help with insulin injections.

Had quiet a lazy day, finished my second book of the hol and can highly recommend both:

First is the "Dear Fatty" Dawn French book and the second was The "Sugar Queen" by Sarah Addison Allen.

Suppose i had better start to prepare tea, Pasta tonight.

A layout!

This is one of the photos from Dan's school trip to Wales earlier this year. Its based on a sketch but i can't remember where i got it from. The sketch is included and if i can find the site i got it from, i will link HERE.

I have worked out why i can't scrap much at the moment. Its because my PC is right next to the scrap ( dinning ) table and EVERYONE wants to use my PC.

Dex is CONSTANTLY on it :( Ever since i bought that flipping iPhone and he discovered FB he is addicted to all the apps and the chatting on my pc. I bought the lead for Dans laptop so he could use that but now of course Meg has pinched the lead for hers and i had to order a new one. Dan came in tonight asking me to sort out a FB account on his laptop when the other lead arrives. Dan hasn't used his laptop for ages!! Grrr That means Dex will still be on mine. I have to save up and get him his own. I don't mind them occasionally using mine but i don't get to use when i want. Anyway its MINE LOL!

That'll teach me!!

To assume that Dan would find his power cable after i bought a new one!!!! No.......Megan broke hers!! Would you have believed it, grr Have had to order one for her as well now. BTW the one from Amazon came the next day and works really well :).........................sigh

Busy Day

Dex is taking Dan and a couple of friends to see Norwich play today ( Dan is really an Ipswich fan, but football is football). Nats has gone to Pleasure wood Hills with Mencap for the day so I thought i would take Meg to see Harry Potter as she is so keen to go. Best of all it is showing in Stowmarket, so I don't have to go to the City :) :)
Meanwhile, I have had to order a power cable for Dan's laptop, he has somehow "lost" his, i have looked everywhere in his room and never seen such an array of cables and leads for various appliances. I expect i shall find it now the new one has arrived. Am trying to sort out problems on it now so Dex can use it for a while( Dan is not into computers and hardly uses it). It keeps going blank after a while.....sigh. So far have managed to get it on line and update antivirus, am now running a virus check and then will delete unwanted programmes before running defrag.
Hopefully might get chance to scrap over the weekend!!

Wheres the summer then?

It WAS sunny for 10 mins this morning...just while i put the washing out, now raining again! Dex has taken Dan ( Meg refused to go) to Pleasurewood Hills today. They all spent so much time arguing over where to go , Meg wanted to see HP at the cinema but Dan wanted to see the Pelham movie. They thought about bowling but in the end PWH. Lots of fighting and arguing and eventually they went. So i have the girls and need to get food shopping.....sigh ....they will have to come but it means that i shall end up buying more "rubbish" than i intended. Megan has already requested a blond hair dye, ohh and can I do it this afternoon....so much for peace and quiet and scrapping :(

Mini Break

is over :( Had a wonderful time, although it went far too quickly!

We spent a night just outside of Bath in a wonderful Hotel with a four poster bed ( although it was a little high and i needed help to get on!). I fell off once.

We then went to the Moorland Hotel on Dartmoor for a couple of nights. Not quite so posh but great just the same, VERY friendly staff who persuaded us to try Kangaroo kebabs ( The owners are from Aus). We went to Plymouth, it was pouring so we went to the cinema to see "the proposal "( v.funny) We also managed a picnic on Dartmoor :)and a visit to Princetown - where the prison is and a wonderful pottery place right in the middle of Dartmoor and had hot chocolate. The pottery was lovely but just a bit too expensive for us. What a great place to be creative though.

On the way home we stopped at a hotel in Reading. It all ended too quickly. The children were really well behaved, thank goodness and no problem.

End of term!

Seemed daft going in for half a day this week..but there you go...done :) It was nice to quickly catch up with a few of the yr 10's after work experience. Am off out with my work colleagues tonight.

The two layouts above were done at a crop this weekend. I still have some journaling to do on the Wales one with help from Dan. You might recognise the flower on the other from the other weekend. It took a bit of glossy accents but it did stick LOL

Big News!!

And a manic, manic week!
First from Jan , i shall have a new job in the school as assistant to the behavioural manager. Its a job i applied for when it came up four years ago but had only been the school caretaker at the time so i took a teaching assistant job instead. I have to say that I have LOVED being a TA it has been my favourite job so far. The big problem is that the wages are totally rubbish compared to other support staff in the school. Anyway, I shall miss being in the classroom and working with the wonderful teachers and outstanding team of TA's but.......I am so excited about my new roll :) and as I shall be in the same school, I still get to see everyone.
Other stuff.
Poor Natalie had a seizure on Wednesday when i went to pick her up from her placement. She hasn't had one for over four years. I just think it was too hot and she can't just faint without going into a seizure. She is fine again now thankfully.
Dan and Meg have broken up for the school holidays. They both had a good last week with LOADS of great activities at their schools. I on the other hand am at school on Monday as we don't break up till Monday lunchtime!!??!
I am off to a small local crop this afternoon and am looking forward to escaping for a little while..not sure what i shall scrap yet.
Hopefully will be back tomorrow with some photos.

Melting!!

I wouldn't mind so much if it was sunny but it has been overcast all day. Spent the day flitting and don't have a lot to show for it really. Half a layout, the flowers above top made from grunge paper and the bottom one from card. Great tutorial here :)

Too hot to fight

My dear children has been arguing a lot of the afternoon and were sent up to their rooms ALL of them! I have let them out and they all chose to go outside yayyyyyy( probably to get away from a grumpy mum! LOL)
I was then able to finish the above lo.......its very simple, couldn't concentrate much..as soon as i saw these gorg Cosmo cricket papers last week, i knew i would be using them quickly.

I would like to quickly wish my dear BIL a Happy Birthday today :) He wont read this as he is at his brothers wedding today . Catch you later .

End of the week

Won't be sorry to see that one finish!! Lots of sad anniversaries :( A job application to sort out - scarey! Manic at work and far to hot to be standing in a classroom all day.

We are going to get the barbie out for the first time this year today :)

The Layout above was started last week and although the blue background card was a good colour match, it was too "bright" not sure that dabbing the brown acrylic over it was my best idea but its done now LOL.
