Back to Work

I missed work! I was surprised at how many children noticed that i had been away. I even got an "I missed you miss" from one of the year 9 boys i support LOL ..never thought i'd hear that!

I did my last piece of work for my NVQ3 today, got to hand in my folder next week and its all done. I need to find something else to do now LOL

Have done my Lo for today ..took ages for the glossy accents on the letters to dry. Nats a few years ago on a day trip top the beach.

I have given in and bought two sets of these boxes for all my alphabet chipboard and stickers etc..can't wait till they arrive. I had an Email this evening to say that had been dispatched..just hope Dex isn't about when they arrive...though he IS going to notice them!!

I'm Back

to feeling better :D At last!

Went out for a Christmas ( i know!) meal last night. I couldn't eat too much but it was great to catch up with friends i hadn't seen for ages. It was the play scheme committee and as i have now resigned, was presented with a bottle of wine. My children are all too old now to go and i have been helping out since Nats started school, so it was time to stop.

I have decided to start up loading to the big picture again ...I know i have missed lots and it finishes at the end of the month. So i give myself a personal challenge of doing 30 Lo's in a row..one a day. Here is No1. I found this photo on a disc and it made me laugh as they both look they have been "up to something!"...which they probably had!!

Spoke to Nets today and poor Rose had her feet badly burned in a hotel bath last night and has had two trips to hospital. Luckily only one has blistered ( must hurt like mad!!) . Hope she heals quickly. Reminds me of a holiday in Cornwall when Nats slammed Megs fingers in the bathroom door ( she was about the same age as Rose) and we had to quickly find the nearest hosp as we couldn't tell if any were broken.

My 300th post!

These are my January DT LO's for ScrapaGoGo.

This has been one of my most Favorite kits so far , i loved the supplies so much , that i went and bought replacement paper and embellishments so that i still have lots to use. I usually get a lot more than four Lo's in a kit anyway, so i really do have loads of these lovely papers to play with.

If you get the chance to buy the kit , go for it as i promise you will not be disappointed.

Right back to playing with February's kit :)

Will be back at work on Monday. I can't belive how much i have missed it!
Nets came over yesterday and brought "get well" food. We chatted and did some scrapping...it was lovely ..especially as there were no children around! I managed to get all my ATC's for this month done. I am hoping to do another LO for the ScrapaGoGo feb kit by the weekend and then i shall be upto date with everything.
I am really really dissapointed that i couldn't carry on with the big picture challenge BUT when i am feeling 100%, I shall challenge myself to 30 LO's over 30 days just to see if i can do it. I WAS using up old stash and lots of photos that i had iontended to scrap but not got round to.

Bum!!

Still feeling yuk and went to docs. He has put me off for another week but said it could be longer before i get some energy back! I hate not being at work, hate letting people and students down ...not good at sitting home doing nothing. I have new stash that i have barely looked at!!

Fed up

But feeling slightly better today. Just weak and nauseous and a bit achy. I never used to get sick......not before i worked with bug ridden children!!LOL This is the third time i have had to take time off, before that was at least 8 years ago :(
Will make sure that i get a jab next year, have always turned it down as i thought i wouldn't get caught.
Have done nothing except sleep and watch TV ..i did managed to watch Torchwood ( that's the only thing i remember watching!)
Have a Fab DT kit to play with as soon as i feel better. FEB's ScrapaGoGo kit is lovely and i have used some already.
Then i shall go back to doing the big picture challenge. I won't catch up , not by the end of Jan anyway but i will challenge myself to to a total of 31 LO's ( other than my DT stuff, which i can't show you yet anyway)

I am going to have an early night

I hope!! I have managed to do tea ( put dishes in washer :)..they are squeaky clean!) and had a bath and got kids to bed , done my daily LO, Photocopied stuff for school tomorrow and packed for Dan. Yayyyyyyyyyyy and all by 10 (ish)

I took the photos with the purpose of scrapping them. We really LOVE the fish and chips at Camelford and always make sure we visit. It was on the way home from our hol this time as we were staying no where near.

Whoo hoo

We have a dishwasher :) I mentioned to a friend at work that i was going to get one but needed to save a bit, and she said she had one that's 3 years old in the garage. Getting it plumbed in tomorrow. That should save me a bit of time in the mornings as even after washing up the tea dishes, there's always a sink full in the morning.

Did 3 Lo's to day but 2 were for Feb's ScrapaGoGo's kit which is lovely.

The one above is the big picture one...i went a bit mad with the stickles glitter glue and i preferred it before........ahh well.

Busy Day

Completely reorganised our bedroom today and i have the bruises to prove it!!

Day 11 of Big Picture

This is becoming a bit of a habit...the last thing I do before I go to bed. I am much later tonight as i was sitting in front of the TV all night watching the Moving wallpaper and then Echo Beach and i love watching Johnathon Ross.

Today's LO is of Steph and Ericka's garden. They live in a flat in Croydon and LOVE their garden. It is really pretty in the summer.

Tired!!

This has felt like a VERY long week! and i am looking forward to a small lay in on Sat. Although, because Dan and Dex will be out for the day , i am going to take the opportunity to completely sort our bedroom out and that will take all day as i also need to put up some new curtain rails. I just never seem to get the time.

Anyway , today's effort for the big picture is very simple. To get the beautiful flourish on the left, I drew round some grunge board that i couldn't bring myself to use....well it only arrived in the post today..maybe next week ;)

Dan had a great time at school last night ( thank goodness!).

Today's LO is of Meg at Tintagel..we would be in BIG trouble if the diabetic nurse saw the size of that ice cream ( AND with Chocolate on!!!) Worth it for her face :)

Without Dan. He is staying at School tonight...it feels weird. He was really excited this morning , i just hope he sleeps. We are both looking forward to a lay in tomorrow, he doesn't have to get up till 8am and i can have half an hour later in bed.

The LO is of Meg and Eva watching TV in the summer...I took about 6 photos before they even realised that i was there..i can't remember what rubbish they were watching! Its for the big picture...i can't believe that after a stumbling start, i am keeping up and using up stash Yayyyyyyyyyyyy, That justifies buying more ;)

Not my best layout but i have been interrupted so many times while doing it ! Not sure how long i can keep it up , doing one a day while at work. LOL
Today was OK , my course this morn , work this afternoon. Great to see my colleagues :) and the children. No changes to my timetable ...yet!
I am cold and tired and need an early (ish) night so i am off now otherwise I'll just watch rubbish on TV and snack.

Holidays are over

Back to school tomorrow...back to manic madness in the mornings. I have really enjoyed the relaxing mornings with no agenda over the last couple of weeks. Not looking forward to getting up at 6.30 so that Dan can get his taxi at 7.15, I then get Meg up ready for her taxi at 8.30, i go to my course for 9am and Nats is picked up at 9.30. Ohh and they need planners signed, dinner money (for one) packed lunches ( 3), sports and swimming kit, spare change, meds before they go etc etc. LOL I am sure it is similar in most houses.

I am happy that i have done all my homework ( at the last min!!) and will only have one Unit left to do after tomorrow ( two pieces of writing) Yayyyyyyyyyy Then i will finish my course...need to find something else to do!

Not doing so well on the Big Picture Layout a day..i have only managed three so far LOL

I have to be up at 6 (ish) as Dan is back at school tomorrow! I am doing some training at work from 10 to 12 as well.

I have been scrapping

Mostly for ScrapaGoGo..the Jan Kit is so Lush!! I have very little left now.

I joined the Big Picture free class/challenge to do a LO a day for a month . Well missed yesterday to start with LOL but managed one today. tried to photograph Dan while he was watching the footy this afternoon..he wasn't having it!! Couldn't use half the photos as he got really rude! Honestly ! the things we scrappers have to endure for our art.

Called the LO "No More" as that was what he was shouting at me ( amongst other stuff!)

Will upload my Christmas LO's tomorrow.

Is it Sunday??

I forget what day it is when its holidays!! Dex is working as well and he doesn't normally work Sundays..its a bit surreal! My darling Children are all still zonked as the horrors won't go to bed at a decent time. Dan is now frightened of going to sleep in case he has another fit, so is trying to stay awake ..joy!
Well we survived Christmas :) We even went to Nets on Boxing day which was great and out shopping the next day ( what ever day that was!!), That was not so great! Bought Meg a new desk for her bedroom . She is very happy at the mo as she had a laptop for Christmas . Steph, myself and the cust services eventually set up a home network so that Meg and Dan can now use the Internet. Dan hasn't really bothered so far but Meg has an email addy AND msn..so of course spent most of yesterday sending me messages from her bedroom. Poor love has learning problems and i am now begging to think she might be dyslexic..very difficult to read some of her messages and even though she has all the right letters , they are muddled up :(
No plans today except dealing with a mountain of washing and maybe/HOPEFULLY scrapping :)
Spending new years Eve with little sis Andrea and family, playing games and drinking..don't even have to drive home asits walking distance yayyy.
If i am not back before....Have a wonderful NEW YEAR and i hope it brings you peace and joy :)

We got off to a shaky start ..last night Dan had a fit and Meg had a hypo..i put it down to excitement..it was about 2.30am before we eventually settled down.
Everyone is now playing with presents or watching TV ..it a nice quiet time. We are having a cooked tea and salad for lunch so i have plenty of time to cook. xxx

of madness and then we can relax ( lol).
Went back to work on Weds, shouldn't have but didn't want to miss out on anything. I love the women i work with, they were SO nice !!
I had been thinking of dad quite a bit recently , we always saw him at Christmas and last year spent the day in hospital with him. We saw an advert for Ferreo rocher and Dex laughed at how dad always bought me some every Christmas. Anyway, going to bed the other night i took the house phone up with me for Dex to phone me in the morn. I looked at the screen and it read"dad" ..i must have pressed the fast dial button .........then at school on weds while clearing out my locker ( i am a hoarder!!) , i found in a plastic bag, a box of ferrero rocher, no card or anything and no one would own up ( i hadn't told anyone about dads pressie either) ...COOL :)
Mum died 9 years ago this week too but its nice knowing they are still around :)
Have done most of my present and food shopping online this year. Just need to pop out for veg on Sunday.
I am still feeling under the weather and am now coughing, especially at night, so its just as well i don't need to go out and spread my germs.
Really pleased as i managed to do a LO for Jans ScrapaGoGo kit to day ..the papers are lush and i have even bought more for when i have used this lot up LOL

Finally got caught

by the bugs going around and am off work for the second day. I HATE being off, i feel so guilty! I am missing our Christmas meal tonight too. Ahh well at least i should be OK again by Christmas.
Dan has his Christmas disco at school tonight so is staying for tea, Dex is picking him up at 9pm so they won't be back till at least 10.30. I had a phone call from his school this morning saying that he can stay over on a Tuesday night from Jan. Yayyyyyyyyyyyy ! He does D of E on a Tuesday so that will be great and means i won't have to drive for 2 1/2 hrs straight after work to pick him up.
No scrapping but i got my order from from Ellison yesterday and am really , really pleased with the sizzix dies i got ...would normally cost over £100 instead of £30!

Cookerthon

Spent most of the day cooking. Made sausage rolls for Dans school party tomorrow and some for us. Made mince pies and Chocolate meringue pie for tea. As well as reorganising the living room so I could fit the tree in and the usual washing etc. Now worn out. Had a sore throat all day too :(..........Just in time for Christmas!!!

I feel like i have been running all day ( i was for some of it! LOL) Spent half the day running round for pupils. The other half in a meeting about our disability equality plans.
I do two days "on call" at school , which means I carry a mobile phone around with me and am called at anytime i am needed when a child we support in a wheelchair, needs the loo. There has to be two of us in there to help ..i won't go into details ! Anyway it is usually at the most inconvenient time. I went to year 9 RE this morn , only to find teacher out and no cover. So I have to take the class, its bigger than ones i have taken before and they are mostly difficult pupils LOL .... yes I had to run out, get the teacher next door to watch while I answered the call. The pupils thought it was highly amusing ( as they have no idea what i do ). Anyway the day has been like that most of the time. Ending with doing CPR ..in my first aid training this evening LOL.
I am hoping for a quieter day tomorrow.

Had a visit from Nets and Rose

Did some card making with Dan, well he did the making bit. He is doing Duke of Ed award at school and this term they are making christmas cards. He was supposed to stay behind after school on Tuesdays but i would have to drive for 2 1/2 hrs ( there and back) to pick him up straight after work. So we are allowed to do them at home. I am sending in photographic evidence LOL. He is quite good :)

Next term he is doing safety in the home ..another we can do at home.

Yesssssssssssss!!

Had my final observation for my NVQ 3 today , thankfully it went really well, even though i was working with a yr seven pupil who was like quick silver LOL I had my work cut out keeping him "on task" but at least my tutor was able to tick all the boxes. All downhill now just a couple more units to do before Feb and i am Done.
Finished another social skills course at school this week too and we are planning the next set of sessions. They are going really well and some of the teachers are noticing better behaviour in some of the pupils which is great.
I also got an invite to the language departments Christmas meal next week ( highly honoured :)) probably in recognition that i have actually taught some of the lessons recently due to no cover !
Sorry to bore you but I am just so pleased this week is almost over. Its so nice to get "stuff" done!
We had a new carer start last night, She seems really nice and very sensible. She has a brother with autism so already has a clue to what life is like here. Dex and I really had missed our wed nights out.
Am going to be doing a Christmas journal from Sat ( a scrapbook one) Just hope i can keep up with it.

Sunday Already?

Where DOES the weekend go to!

I wish i could afford to work part time, but as my wages are so crap away, there's not much chance! Would just like to spend a day on my own LOL. Dex has taken Meg out to pizza hut and to Asda to get the shopping but Nats and Dan are in and out all the time. I tried to listen to some music nut Nats wanted a chat (bless) and while i was doing my homework, Dan wanted football on TV ..Joy.

Meg is being treated because we are SO pleased with her. She had her school report on Friday. All the children have learning problems and are just happy if they try at school and behave...you can't ask for more really. Megs effort grades are ALL A's with A* for English..bless her. what a star! The nice bit was at the front of the report was a note from the head saying that all the students at school have different learning abilities and are all working are different levels but the most important thing was the effort they put in :) :)

The LO is of Dan at Nets in the late Summer. Deb set me a challenge to use 12 items including 2 pp's, brads, chipboard and rubber stamps. Not my fav LO but there you go.

Yawwwn

I ought to go to bed as i am really tired! I just don't DO winter..would gladly curl up and hibernate till spring.
I intend to not do too much over the weekend. Washing/scrapping and a small amount of tidying that's it.
Got my Christmas scrapaGoGo kit this week and it is so lovely, so easy to use :).
Next week is really busy, we have mock exams to Read and scribe for most of the week, after school courses. i have my NVQ tutor coming in to observe me on Thurs and a governor meeting after school one night ( wouldn't mind but its 30 + miles away :( ).
Off to a friends birthday party tomorrow, leaving Dex with the children (again!) LOL
We have a new carer coming on Weds, so Dex and I can resume our Wed nights out for a pub tea and then hit Tesco's ( quite handy this time of the year) The children get too hyper in the shops around Christmas. I really have missed our nights out.

I have been putting the finishing touches to the LO's i did at the retreat the other week but.........my scanner is not being recognised by my PC at the mo...Its bad enough the kids falling out LOL
Busy day today. Dan went shopping to Ipswich with his friend (and friends mum). He had a great day considering he usually hates shopping and crowds LOL
I took Meg to Diss after dropping Nats and her friend off at a Mencap Christmas party. I bought Meg some new clothes and bits ( like false nails!??!). She was also squirted in the chemist with Britney's perfume ( i use the word loosely!) and now wants some for Christmas.
I am 3/4 of the way though my NVQ course and am looking for something else to do. Going on one of the weirdest courses ever after school on Monday ..no laughing...speed stacking. I was put forward by the other TA who does the social skills groups with me, she thought it would be fun to do in the group. Its all about co ordination and perception. Hey at least if the head makes more cut backs , we could get a good job at Tesco's...I 'm SPEED stacker , me! LOL

Nearly a week since i have been here!
Nothing exciting to show ..been finishing off LO's but they need to be scanned.
Meg went to diabetic clinic last week and her over all blood sugars were too high , felt like we were "naughty " parents :( Have increased her insulin and it seems to be doing the trick.
No other news just busy, busy and I hate this time of year as it so dark.

Whooo Hooo

Brill weekend!! Went to ADML retreat the other side of Ipswich. ACTUALLY scrapped too! Six brill classes. I am a slightly better photographer (thanks to Kirsty's class), Scrapped MORE than one photo on a layout (thanks to Debbie and Becks) , had GREAT fun with paints ( Clare and Mel) and stitched some felt flowers (Hanna). Some of the Lo's are done and some need finishing off but not by much. Will upload them at the weekend.

The hotel was GORG! (and my room wonderful), looooovely food and best of all i got to meet so many friends ( old and new ) :)

Mel and Jill did a wonderful job of sorting everything out and bringing their fab shop. I will be begging to go again if there is one next year.

The photo above is of the grounds..there were people playing golf who were bemused by all of us taking hundreds of photos.

and cold tonight. And STILL there's flies hanging around!! Grrr. Both Dan and Dex are sitting with a fly swat near them.. there can't be that many left.
Nats is off to North Norfolk for a few day tomorrow. I am glad she will miss being here for Halloween as people banging on the door makes her really jumpy...Living where we do, we don't just get little kids either!

Back to school today

No more lay ins :( This is my least fav time of year as it is SO busy and its long half term too. Managed to hand in two units of my course and two pieces of homework...Felt great till we were given two more pieces this morning LOL

Took my first lesson today ....wasn't supposed to but the cover teacher didn't turn up. So i took yr 9 French. Wasn't as bad as it sounds as the work had already been set and it was easy for me to follow, it was a small class and i know all the pupils really well. They were great and did all the work. I did go looking and even informed the office but no one seemed too bothered, i am sure if it had been a difficult class i would have found someone...Just wish i got the teachers pay LOL.

Did a scraplift challenge on the pad and i quite like it (above). The original was done by Yizz and is stunning!

.but DT work so can't show you yet. CAN say that Novembers ScrapaGoGo kit is really stunning :) Above are a few from last month's kit. I love the one of Meg watching Rosie having her nappy changed..she was really disgusted LOL

Need to get some homework done today as i am off scrapping at Wyverstone tomorrow.

This old Witch

Went out to a Halloween party tonight. She LOVES Halloween and dressing up LOL. It was put on by social services for young people with learning disabilities and was held in Ipswich. It was great as she got to catch up with people she was at school with .

Spent a looovely day yesterday with Nets. We took a trip to Papermaze to see Ness, who made us very welcome. Got some gorg stamps too.

As if i don't have enough to do, i have signed up for loads of swaps and have spent most of the day making ACT's to trade and swap.

Had to go to the doc's this morning because of Dex shouting "Breath" in the middle of the night the other night! Frightened the life out of me ..apparently i had been snoring really loudly and then stopped breathing. Anyway, Doc thinks it is congestion left over from my bad cold last month and now have a nasal spray to try and help. Dex has to monitor my sleeping/snoring...hes going to LOVE that as he usually gets into Megs bed and sends her in with me when i snore too loudly! I told him that the Doc says he HAS to sleep with me LOL!!

I have to be really nice to Dex at the mo as i am off to Wyverstone for a days scrapping on Sat and then the following weekend, Nets and I are off to the ATDML retreat :) :)

Started making my christmas cards and will do Nets challenge to make one without Christmas papers.

1. I have had LOADS of different jobs incl: Hairdresser, Beauty therapist ( i trained for these for years!), nursing axillary, waitress, cleaner, school caretaker, steward in the officers mess in RAF, and am now doing the job i was meant for as an SEN teaching assistant.

2. I once slammed Nets thumb in the door ( she was about 4 yrs) by accident , and she still remembers and often shows me the scar. ( guilt trip! ;))

One more day to go then a week off for half term. I am so tired ( more to do with the days drawing in i think than anything else) so am looking forward to a few lay ins.

I do have plenty to keep me busy though..a double lot of homework from my course. Some typing up of lesson plans for school and BEST OF ALL .....Nov ScrapaGoGo kit to play with :)..That worked out well as i find it harder to scrap when there is school.

Nets and I are also off to visit Ness's Papermaze shop ( see link) and she has LOADS of yummy new stash in. Ohh and a big crop at Wyverstone next weekend.

Its pink day at school tomorrow and i have to find something pink to wear..I think i will have to pinch a T shirt from Nats as i don't have anything pink!

Been trying to scrap

This is the second week of the UKs Cyber Crop, I am such a slow scrapper though. Am half way though Ness's sewing class ( haven't even started sewing yet!!) Here's the bannana Frog Class from yesterday anyway...............whatch this space , there COULD be more later !!

Birthday boy

Doesn't smile much in the morning but WAS laughing when his taxi driver was singing "Happy Birthday" as they drove away. This "little?" boy is now 14. I still remember him being born LOL at 10 lbs, I doubt I'll ever forget!. He is off to another school this afternoon for a relay race and the youth club he attends are having a little party tonight. Hope he has a great day.

The lovely ladies over on the "It's a creative world " blog have challenged us to scrap your boobs. So these are my very ample ones and my lovely husbands ( his is the hairy chest!!!) as he rightly pointed out that men get breast cancer too. There is a page set up for donations.

I have also added this site to my faves, costs nothing to click each day.

BTW, the darker area on the LO is because it was scanned and the bit with "your" on it is raised and so casts a shadow.

Catch up

Been trying to catch up with everything this week. I think i am winning!!.
Am back on top of my course homework ( after a few hours yesterday!) It finishes just after Christmas and my wages should then go up a bit , so it should be worth it!
Now belong to three ACT swaps and a Cj ( all up to date - halo inserted here)
My DT it also up to date.
So is the washing yayyyyyyyyyyy
SO , i am hoping to scrap at some point to day for myself :). There is a cyber crop at UKs and i would like to join in even if it is just a couple of LO's.
Well, it is 10am and the children are all STILL asleep in bed :) :) ( there's a lot to be said for letting them stay up late ;)
If only it was this peaceful all day......sigh.
