Quiet day yesterday and a visit today

This is Dan Yesterday after going to work with Dex. It was SO quiet here LOL Not often you see him so still! he chose not to go with him last night and went to bed when i told him for the first time in ages with out trying to negotiate more time .

She is the only person allowed to call me Susie :).

Managed to photograph her when she was tired LOL ..Little minx is in to everything now. Nets and Raymond have their hands full now. Little poppet. My children loved seeing her today.

It has been a lovely quiet day, Meg went to a friends house and isn't back till teatime. Nats has onl;y just got in and Dan has been asleep ( as he went to work with Dex last night) .

Anso set me a challenge ( as i wanted to scrap but couldn't decide what ) The challenge was :

Just going to hoover quickly and do the childrens tea..Dex and I are off shopping ( after a lovley meal at the White Horse!) ..Thursday is the night our carer comes and we are freeeeeeeeeee for a date :) ;)

MY baby

is 12 years old today :) ...........She is very excited and will probably celebrate mosy of the week. Her best friend was 12 a couple of days ago , so they are off out on Thursday night. She is going out for a meal on Sunday too. She had a handbag and a purse from me and money from her nanny so far. ( i have got her a dolly and necklace but it hasn't arrived yet)

Quieter than i thought it would be

so far anyway..School Hol that is :)

dan is out at a friends( just up the road) ..keeps popping in to ask if he can have a hampster..his friend has one to get rid of :( ....I really don't "Do" pets.

Nats is at her friends and staying for tea. They went to Diss yesterday on the bus and i counted the secs till they were back. It is only the second time that they have been together. They are hoping for sunshine tomorrow so they can go for a picnic in the park.

Meg is the only one home and watching Tv ( playing with Bratz ) :)

I couldn't resist the paper for the LO above..SO Megan!!LOL Its a bit noisey and seems to have scanned a bit darker ( probably all the 3D stuff)

Spring cleaning

The living room today. Still got to "do" the TV area...leaving that for today. Manage to get most of the room done though..bet the boys don't notice when they get back from football.

Wasn't able to go to my usual crop at Wyverstone today , so , I finished off a LO I started last month. There isn't much journalling on it as the photo says it all and always makes me smile.

Got some lovly stash from AMLT's to day and some yummy baby primas from Nets..Thanks Nets xxx

Holiday!!!!!

Yayyy!!! two weeks. I do have some work to do and absolutly LOADS of house work ....but i am not gonna think about that now.
Dex and Dan are off to football in the afternoon tomorrow. Nats is out from 10-3 at Sizewell ..some pamper day for people with disabilities. Meg MAY be going to a party but i don't know for sure till tomorrow..even so , it looks like a lovely quiet day....i shouldn't count my chickens LOL.

I was lucky enough to have two boxes of chocs! a candle and some fab earings :) Dex has taken Meg and Dan out for the day and it is lovely and quiet here. Nats has gone for a walk with her boyfriend so it is just me.

My Scrapagogo kit arrived this week ( for April) and I am planning to play tomorrow. Dex has offered to take Dan and Meg to the cinema.
Had LOADS of homework for my NVQ to do this week but got up 2 hours before the children this morning so I have almost done now.
Finished my mothers day workshop at the school this week ..the children were really pleased with their results. The art/textiles teacher is VERY interested in all the "stuff" I do. I have got her to make me an ACT this weekend!

My Job is safe :)
I know , i haven't blogged about it but we had a big meeting at school before half term to say that the school was in dire straights money wise and staff would have to go. The head came to our dept and told us all that no ones job was safe ( Had a really miserable half term).
Anyway , some of the teaching staff are moving on or retiring and one of us is able to do another job in the school ( so the SEN dept lose hours) but we don't actually lose anyone .
Just as well really as i have just started a social skills group, a craft club and started my NVQ3 course. I took a drop in money to do this job , but it is the most rewarding job i have ever done and love it .
Hope you are still awake LOL .....back to scrapping , i have a couple of cards to make ;)

LOL I have forgotten what week it is! The Prompt: Who (or what) do you miss?

It would be really easy to do Cav or Mum so i disided to do a What do you miss.

I miss the 70's as it was my teenage years. I really miss all that glitter..i even glittered my hair !! LOL The lip gloss that looked like you had smeared chip fat all over them , but smelt of mint; Aqua mander, Eau Jeune and just musk perfumes; Big wedge platform shoes, held on by tiny plaited straps; Flared trousers and tanktops; cheese cloth; The disco music, David Essex,Leo Sayer, Mud etc; ...the list is endless (not to mention innocence, no worries,no bills, great health)....sigh

I have been having a go at doing inchies ( as i am taking part in a swop) ..here are a few ..sorry about the photo , i MUST get my camera fixed as Nats is no good at close ups. Steph, they are what they say ...one inch square :)

I looked in my planner earlier and realised that i am out till Friday night :( ..Two evenings and one morning doing training ( for school) and the rest of the time at work. I am making the most of today to catch up and also do a bit of scrapping.
Poor Nats is still not able to get her shoe on , and so is still off Collage and not able to go out ....she is really fed up , especially as her foot doesn't hurt so much now , just still swollen and an awful colour.
My darling children have been awful all weekend with Megan taking the Gold for attitude..Grrrrrrrrrr. I don't know if it is High school, Hormones, her Diabetes or just that she is foul but she is really tring all of us at the mo.
Right off to do some work ;)

Update

On Nats Foot.....sorry if you have just eaten. I am amazed at how well she is. Nats has a VERY low pain threashold, but it able to walk on it and even bear her weight. The Doc pushed and pulled and prodded her foot and ankle and she said it was sore but that was all. She has passed out when having an injection.

Had a lovely day at Wyverstone yesterday and managed to do some scrapping..will up load when i have shown Nets first.

Now need to catch up on washing etc :(

This Week

I am So tired!
I started a craft club at school this lunchtime. We are making concertina books/cards for mothers day. It went quite well but could have done with a few more. They were all very excited and keen ,so i expect there will be more next week. The sampl;e i made for them is above.






Poor Nats fell badly on Weds and has hurt her foot. The Doc says he has't seen a bruise like hers for a long time :(..It actually looks worse than this. This was taken yesterday and it has spread since then. She seems to be in little pain and can hobble about quite well. The doc said it would possibly take months to heal though.

Am off to Wyverstone to crop tomorrow, haven't been since OCTOBER!! I hope i can remember what to do ..ohh yes shop!! LOL!!

Back to work tomorrow but i am starting my NVQ3 course in the morning first. In the process of checking the childrens stuff ...ready for the morning. I prefer to be at work but the organising is such a pain and i cannot trust the children to sort them selves out. Ahh well i am sure i am not alone.

Here is my effort for Dex..He hasn't seen it yet coz stupidly i thought it was Valentines tomorrow and was going to do his card today..As it , i have only just finished..just a re do of my ATC really. Dex is off on his way to Norwich with Dan , as Dan it desperate for new clothes..sports clothes are the only ones that fit at the mo as he is getting so tall but staying quite skinny ( exactly like Dex used to be...mum always used to tell me to take him home and feed him!!...ohh if she could see him now! LOL)

I bought a filing cabinet as i am sick of piles and plies of notes and paperwork everywhere. When you have children with educational statements, regular hospital appiontments and social workers, the paperwork just mounts up LOL ..They each have a drawer and DEX and i have one to hide our bills in LOL!...Guess what i shall be doing over half term!

Week Four

The prompt is : a symbol you love...mine is a white rose...I read somewhere that it symbolises pure, spiritual love. I take one every time i visit Cav and Mums grave.


Dad is now home. He came home on Thursday and i have been round a few times to check on him , do his washing ( the carers don't do that!) etc. I found him cooking yesterday!! He is not supposed to !!! I am really fed up with the hospital and social sevices ..i don't think the care package is enough. I still have a list of stuff that i need to sort out.
Dan, Meg and myself have all had head colds..i am feeling better but went to bed at 8pm on Fri night ..unheard of LOL.
Nets and Rose came round to see us yesterday. Rose can now say "SoooOOO!" Lol sounds so cute.

Been Tagged ..twice

So here you go 6 weird things about me ( or not so weird if you know me!!)


1. I didn't swear until i got married ( not a joke!) I was VERY prim and easily offend, also very shy. What can i say..i have turned in to a fish wife!! ( sorry any fish wives reading this ) . I also have two children with Tourettes ..one who does have a swearing tic , although not so bad now .

2. I LOVE books and hate to give them away ( even though i will only ever read them once) , I even love the smell of new books. This is something i can remember from childhood. Addicted to stationary shops ( even before scrap booking ).

3. I sometimes forget how old i am and am surprised when i look in the mirror! ( I have a sneaky suspicion that i am not the only one who does this!)

4. My fingers are double jointed.

5. I NEED to spend sometime completely alone each day..even if it means that i have to stay up late when everyone else has gone to bed.

6. I am a VERY big Darren Hayes Fan ( Hah! bet you didn't know that!!) I LOVE his Lyrics..often feel he has written whats in side me ..yup that's weird!!


I am sure my sisters will know LOADS more, but that's all you are getting for now !

Week three of Emily's Challenge

Not a great scan i am afraid .

I am very lucky not to have been fined for forgetting my tax and am now completely legal........sigh.

Dad came home for a visit yesterday , with an entourage of OT's and social workers. The hosp are desperate for his bed and he is to be sent home soon. At least they now agree that he should not be cooking at all, not even making a cup of tea!! I have to pop round on Sunday and rearrange his kitchen so he can't reach anything dangerous. They are recommending a carer three times a day and meals on wheels. I also have a little list of things to do.

Dex is off out to a Christmas meal !!?? tonight AND staying over, so i should get some time to scrap..yayyyyyyyy!!

Got the "Just like snowflakes" Yummy kit today and want to play with that. Also got the Basic Grey Magnetic cutting mat from Ness at Papermaze..Thanks :) very quick delivery!! ( thought you were at CHA?)

Made a lovely new friend ( Mellie) today from one of the scrapping boards...we have SO much in common.

Sorry need a little moan

Please don't send hugs, i just need to type it out and move on LOL. Nothing dreadful just life. I help with the special needs homework club on a Tuesday ( for the children who can not do it at home or cannot organise them selves to do it)For an hour after school. I was only saying this evening that i ought to get Megs taxi driver to drop her on the way home as she certainly fits in with this group. So after homework club and then tea, I start again with Meg, she is not capeable of working on her own at all and needs lots of help. Also lots of nagging to actually sit down to do it. It is now just gone 9pm and i have now finished...sigh
Also while de icing my windscreen this morn, I noticed that my tax was over due!!!! I felt like a criminal!! Dex paid it as soon as he got home on line but i still have to wait for the disc to arrive. I have no idea when it came or where the reminder is !! But have had to do so much paper work recently. Megs Disability living allowence was due for renewal over Christmas and with dad in hosp, i have had my mind on other things. Still might get a fine in the post :(
These are by no means big things and i am already feeling much better...just a bit too worn out to do anything for me (again!!LOL)

Finished my DT LO for Scapagogo...feels good. I really LOVE these kits...i don't always read the previews so that i get a suprise each time the kit arrives...I am always amazed at the FAB stash that arrives...far too much for me to use on even a couple of LO's. Lorraine is off to CHA next week and i KNOW we are in for a treat with future kits :)

Keep your fingers crossed that my children carry on being quite so i can get on. They have been sorting out thier rooms ( i didn't even tell them too!) , but i daren't go look to see what they have done. LOL

I make no apologies for using a heart again as anyone who knows me will know i am one of the soppiest people around. Doesn't have to be romantic love either..i really like that scene in "Love actually" where people are meeting at the airport terminal. Most definitely my driving force :)

Emily's Challenge

For last week was to do an ACT of something that makes you proud. Mine is my marriage. Dex and I have been married for 24 years this year. We have had four children, we lost Cav 16 years ago and the others have all sorts of problems, we have had no money at times and for 10 years hardly saw each other as we worked in shifts. I have spent years ( probably ) worrying about him , first in the Falklands ( when he was in the RAF) and later at "shouts" as a retained fireman. We have most definitely had our fair share of rows and it has been hard ( I am sure there are still times to come). In 2000, we decided to renew our wedding vowes. The pic on my ACT is us cutting the cake.

So much stash so little time.!!!

And no i doubt i will stop supplying my habit, even though i am stock pileing ( sp??) at the mo.

Popped in for a visit today . What a sweetie...she always go straight to my computor, i have to find the kneebouncers site for her to play on. She made it VERY clear that the "orange" was hers alone! LOL and had a go at peeling it herself ( did a great job) The children adore her coming and fight over who is going to look after her ( meg usually wins! ) as you can see above.........i haven't worked out how to move the photos around in this new version of blogger yet!

Nets brought me some stash that we had ordered from the US , some yummy Sassafrass lass lace stamps and some Daisy D modern romance journalling die cuts ......I LOVE this range :)

Got Dex to watch Brokeback mountain with me tonight..he didn't want to but he really enjoyed it ( though he won't admit it to anyone else ;) LOL) ..It is a really beautiful film ..i LOVE the scenery too.

I have scrapped !!

I haven't been able to for ages.....it feels good :) Can't show you as its for thw scrapagogo DT .....The Jan papers are fab!!! LOVED using them and the stamps will last forever :)

The LO above was my DT LO for December done with the yummy blonde moments papers and some of their ultra thick embossing powder.

Didn't get to see dad yesterday. We went up for a quick suprise visit and he had just gone to see a specialist :( ..The children were all fighting so we weren't able to hang around. We took them to Toys R us but they couldn't find much that they wantedin the sales. Dex got a game for his PSP of course ( he won't miss a chance ;))

Dan and Dex are off to football on newyears day ( nice and quiet here then!)

Nice quiet Christmas

which is just what i wanted. We went to visit dad in the morning and were allowed to take him to the resteraunt for a hot choc. We is still not "with it" but was really pleased to see us . We took some photos with Dex phone and will try to upload them here. Off to visit again tomorrow.

The Children were really well behaved and were rewarded with some fab pressies. Meg had a DSLite and was also thrilled to get some make up and perfume. Dan had lots of Arsnel stuff and a PSP . Nats had lots of scrapbook stash and a digital camera. We also bought them a fab keyboard ( doesn't sound half as bad as i thought it would!!LOL) I now have to try to teach them to read music..meg has leassons at school and is able to play using the letters so far.

Nets , Raymond and Rose popped over on Boxing day which was lovely.

I have to say i must have put on loads of weight ..i am getting sick of chocs ( shock/horror)

Have some DT stuff to do so, must get my arse in gear!

Looking around the sales tomorrow but don't really need anything ( Dex already has a PSP , after he saw Dan's..boys!!) So i guess we will be looking at games ..joy!

Eight years ago today I lost my very best friend , my mum. Thankfully she left me three wonderful sisters Steph, Anet and Wen ..i Love you :)

Bad Mummy !

I Will try to do it soon. I finish work on Tuesday , so hopefully we will be all sparkly by then.
Update on dad: He in hospital. On the main ward, so that he can have someone to talk to. He keeps getting out of his bed ( fell out twice now!!) Physically he is very strong but mentally , although better, has a way to go yet. The hospital want to transfere him to an "old people's hosp" , I do think he would be happier. It is the other side of Ipswich , which means about a 60 mile round trip for two of us and Nets 120 miles :( Still about 200 from steph.
I know he would rather be there than in the place he is over Christmas..just hope its not for too long. We do have a hospital in Eye ( it is in the process of closing down) and they still have 10 beds ( both me , little sis and mum have worked there at one time). They are only taking women so is out of the question.
Yayyy i HAVE scrapped!! Can't upload yet as it is for Scrapagogo :) Also done my Christmas stocking swap and made a few more cards. Am ready to do a challenge now. Another reason why no dec up as i would have to clear away all my scrapbook stash until after Christmas :( ....Ohh for a bigger house LOL

Fed up

The clothes show was great, if a bit crowded and noisy. Managed to get some bargains for Christmas.
Unfortunately on the way, got a message from Dex saying that they had to break into dads house again. He was very disoriented and didn't know who Dex was. Dad's GP came out and sent him back to hosp. I won't go into all the details except to say it was an awful day for everyone especially Steph ((hugs)). She travelled up from London to the hosp , only to be told they had sent him back home and she then had to go straight back!
We had to call out another doc as Andrea ( little sis) and I felt that he wasn't safe to be on his own and eventually for the second time that day he was taken back :( ...We both felt like shit. Dad shouldn't have been sent home especially with a cannula still in his arm!!!
He has had more tests today and they now know he had a mild stroke. Poor man has suffered so much in the last year. Waiting to hear further news.

Off to the clothes show at the NEC tomorrow with the school. Going to bed soon as i have to be up so early.......want me to bring anything back ;)

What on earth is wrong with me!!!

I haven't scrapped for three weeks!! not even a little bit. I really want to and have ideas in my head, i just feel so tired when i eventually sit down to do it AND it is so dark! Got my scrapagogo DT kit yesterday and it looks gorgeous so i hope to play with it at the weekend
Dad is FINALLY home from hospital. He looks quite frail but is determined as ever to do as much for himself as he can.
Looking forward to going to the clothes show next week with the year 10's and 11's.
Been buying my Christmas presents online this year as we don't seem to get the chance to go anywhere much. When we go out with the children , it always ends as a disaster.

Was brilliant!!I missed two cyber crops and the Wyverstone Christmas crop and lunch but i have to say it was worth it. Our seats were good ( not that we sat down LOL) I LOVED the set and George seemed to be really enjoying himself too. Would loved to be at the final concert on 17th Dec at wembly ( ticket are on sale today). Got in at 3.45 this morning ...looong day.
STILL no scrapping done..just don't seem to be able to settle at the mo..keep starting stuff.
Am teaching year 10's to do teabag folding next week!! The boys will LOVE that LOL!
Can't think of anything else exciting to tell you ATM.

Evening :)

Concert last night was quite good. I am not a big fan of jazz/softrock but i enjoyed myself. Thought that Andy Fairweather-low was brilliant!
Started reading this book and loving it. I didn't watch much of BB until i found out that he had Tourettes. As two of my children also suffer i found it really interesting. I just LOVE his attitude..so far a great book. ( only on chapter four so far )

Bad Blogger!!

A whole week since i blogged and no scrapping done as such. Things are starting to get so busy now.
I am typning this while i eat my tea as i am off to see Bill Wyman with a girl friend i haven't seen for ages ( today is her birthday...Happy Birthday Pat!..she won't read this LOL).
On antihistamine at the moment as there is something weird going on with my mouth...NO COMMENTS please LOL..anyway my lips are swollen. It won't be long till they ask at school if i have had botox!
Dex and i went out for our weekly shop and meal last night..very nice :)
Poor dad is STILL in hosp. Is on blood thinners now as his blood keeps clotting.
Really pleased as Steph ( my sis ) is working in Norwich for the next two week , so i might get to see her :)

I have finally been able to get onto my NVQ3 teaching assistants course. Should start in the new year and the really good thing is that i will be doing it on a wed morning in Diss ( 5 miles away) . Bad for the school as they will have to release me to do it , but great for me as i won't have to do ALL the work in my time at home ( lets face it ..i would have to be up till 2am to get any quiet here!)
We had our carer round last night and went out ...to Tesco's !! LOL ..We did go to the pub for tea first though. Meg wanted to know if we were going on a date...i like the sound of that :) Unfortunately they were awful to get to bed and it was after 10 before they settled down.
Poor dad is STILL in hospital and really fed up. They keep telling him thaty he can come home , but then change thier mind..but don't always tell him :( Nats and i popped round to his tonight to make sure that the fridge was clean and sort out his bungalow so it is nice and welcoming when he does come back.
Not done much scrapping..a couple of things for the scrapagogo DT , the monthly UKs ACT swop and a couple of birthday cards.
Really pleased that i finished two baby books,,one i started last year! They are just decorated pages for the mothers to put the photos onto. Anyway here is one:

Still nothing to show you
Its been one of those weeks! Halloween was awful as my children shouldn't have sweets. We don't do trick or treat as they are a bit old now, but......they were VERY hyper and we had so many people knocking on our door. It was so stressful , i ended the evening in tears and it takes quite a bit to make me cry nowadays. ( except TV of course LOL)
Wednesday evening we had a lovely man come to see us about respite. It will mean that we could have 3 1/2 hours a week. Dex and I will be able to go shopping TOGHETHER with out the children :) Unfortunately we were under the impression that he was just going to pop in at 6.30 to get to know us but, he didn't leave till 10!! The children were late to bed and we were really tired ..boy can he talk!!! LOL
Thursday evening I finished my "school safe" training and sat a test :)
Its been busy at work too..been given more responsiblity ( no more money though).
Tonight I am hoping to do some scrapping
Been looking at all the worldwide dares ( sorry rubbish at links) and looking forward to seeing the UK speshal dare at 11pm tonight.
We have disided to TRY to take part in the blackout tomorrow between 4.30 and 7.30. Ok i know we are not in London AND we may still need to kepp one TV on for the children , but all the lights and electrical stuff can be turned off. I supported in two Geography lessons today and heard all the facts!! VERY scarey. Turning some things off is better than nothing. Wouldn't it be great if they did it in America..in fact while we were talking about it , one of the year 8 children wanted to know why they didn't do it in Las vegas!!
